The Stephen Clair Transmissions play Best Video Film & Cultural Center on Sat., Oct. 12. The show starts at 7 PM with Inner Groove opening. The cover is $10.Known for his wry humor & guitar stylings, Beacon, NY’s Stephen Clair has been a fixture on the Americana, singer-songwriter and garage rock scenes since 1997’s, Altoona Hotel. Clair came to prominence when the late Rita Houston added "Jen in Her Underwear" to rotation on WFUV, putting Clair on the map and the road. "Rawboned," Clair’s latest album features nothing more than Clair and a guitar. Each song is a complete take, a miniature story. Every note—including the air around it—is intentional. For this show, Stephen will be playing with his full electric band The Stephen Clair Transmissions.
Denise Jones and Tom Sekscenski founded Inner Groove in 2010. Initially, the band started as a bar/cover band, but they soon began to add original songs to their setlist. Their songs are emotional portraits of people, love and faith, drawing inspiration from various genres such as folk, pop, rock and country. Since their inception, Inner Groove has created three albums (available on CD and streaming platforms) and is currently working on their fourth. They have played at coffee houses, clubs, bars, festivals and concerts and their distinctive style is guaranteed to leave a lasting impression.
