We all know steam was a prime source of motive power in the early days. Trains managed to retain that source for the longest, but many will have forgotten or never been aware how many other vehicles were once powered by steam.One man who hasn't and is still building his own steam machines, is Mark Drake from Stroud. As well as owning various steam powered machines, Mark has built a new steam powered bicycle, which he has agreed to bring along to our club night.
Mark organises the annual steam car event in Oxfordshire and will talk to us about his engineering skills and various other tales of ingenuity surrounding steam cars and bikes.
This should be a fascinating evening and as with all our talks is FOC for all paid up members. Non members welcome subject to a £3 donation (or free if it's your first time with us), or simply join up.
