Join us for a powerful discussion on the safety and well-being of Black girls in our community at "The State of Black Girl Safekeeping".
About this Event

The State of Black Girl Safekeeping aims to explore Black girls’ experiences of violence, harm and community safety through a series of panel discussions and interactive exercises. In light of the various instances of harm experienced by Black girls that have and have not drawn public attention, we believe it is important that we foster a safe space for Black girls to not only vocalise their experiences, but also outline the support they need.

Through this event, we aim to bring together practitioners, experienced professionals and adults who frequently come into contact with Black girls, and offer solutions on how to help tackle issues of poor mental wellbeing and risk of harm among school-aged Black girls. Our aim is to help create a space that honours the experiences of Black girls, actively centres their safety and prioritises their joy.
