Jeremy and Paul Stacey and their 14-piece big band pay tribute to the iconic, multi award-winning American rock band Steely Dan.Jeremy Stacey is a powerful and highly impressive drummer, who is equally at home playing pop, rock, funk or straight-ahead jazz. Jeremy’s resume is vast, including work with the likes of Tom Jones and the The Finn Brothers. The regular drummer with American icon Sheryl Crow for over 7 years, Jeremy toured the world (twice!) with his friend Noel Gallagher’s “High Flying Birds” and is currently one of the three featured drummers with the iconic band King Crimson.
Paul Stacey is an impressive guitarist who showed his versatility early on when he combined work with the likes of jazz vocalist Claire Martin and appearances with Oasis, working with Noel Gallagher on various projects both as a musician and producer, as well as playing guitar with the Black Crowes, Chris Robinson, and the Finn Brothers. These days a well-respected producer and recording engineer as well as a master guitarist, Paul is considered to be one of the UK’s leading musicians.
Jeremy and Paul have, however, found time in their busy schedules to put together this tribute to the seminal US band Steely Dan. Co-founded by Walter Becker and Donald Fagen in 1972 this group, of which those two musicians were the core members, produced a series of iconic albums, including The Royal Scam, Aja and Gaucho. For the gig tonight, Jeremy and Paul have put together a world-class 14-piece band to perform a selection of timeless songs from the Steely Dan canon. This gig was intended to be a tribute to the band, but since its inception has now also become a tribute to Steely Dan co-founder Walter Becker, who sadly passed away in 2017.
This spectacular evening will consist of over an hour and fifteen of world-class, captivating musical performances, and an engaging and informal conversation/Q&A led by Woking Music Founder, Adam Bond.
