The St Mawes Classic Car Festival not only attracts local cars but also many national classic car owners. You are sure to see some wonderful examples of rare, expensive, and beautifully restored and maintained classic vehicles. The festival is organised by Nearwater Events. H Tiddy are proud sponsors of the main event, The Concours d’Elegance, where all the festival’s attendees and their cars, as well as many other locally invited classic vehicles, all park on St Mawes Quay. Everyone is invited, free of charge, to have a good close up look and gaze longingly at the cars, talk to their owners, listen to live music, admire the beautiful coastal surroundings, and cheer the cars along the exclusive St Mawes waterfront for their parade lap around the village.
This year’s Concours is being held on Thursday 9th May, from 3pm to around 6pm. Keep your diary free! Monies raised during the afternoon are donated to Childrens’ Hospice South West (www.chsw.org.uk).
At 3pm, St Mawes Quay is opened for the cars to be parked. Judging by Bonhams in Truro (https://www.bonhams.com/location/TRU/truro/ ) commences around 4pm and between 4:30pm and 5:30pm there will be live sea shanty music by Du Hag Owr. At 5:45pm prize giving includes the announcement for the best overall car, best local car, and best-dressed couple in “fancy dress”.
