About this Event
In partnership with The Floor Magazine, Sam Greenlee's The Spook Who Sat By the Door: The First Black Man in the CIA (2024) launches at this one of a kind party.
Publishing juggernauts Margaret Busby (the first publisher of this book in the UK, 1968) and Irenosen Okojie (Black to the Future) will be in conversation about the seminal work on race relations in America.
Across the evening, guests will have a chance to personalise their own exclusive The Floor Magazine designed and collated zine, enjoy a live reading of the novel by a special guest, drinks and nibbles, a live DJ set, as well as shop the novel!
This is not just a celebration of the book, but a celebration of the legacy of Black British publishing, as The Spook Who Sat By The Door comes back into public consciousness, ushered in by a Black British Press, 55 years after its original release.
