Discover the fascinating ties between Spiritualism and the fight for women’s rights. This engaging presentation explores the origins of the Spiritualist Movement, which began right here in Western New York, the story of the Fox Sisters, and the evolution of mediumship as the 19th century gave way to the 20th.Learn how physical mediumship offered women a rare path to independence at a time when professional opportunities were limited, and how the Spiritualist Movement intersected with the Suffragist and broader Women’s Rights movements. Guests will also have the opportunity to see an authentic spirit trumpet used during a séance.
