Following on from our epic Spirit of Acid Jazz club night at the Brighton Spiegeltent in May we just had to do it again!I’m delighted to present you up with the follow up at the fabulous Waterbear Venue on Saturday November 16th.Once again we’ll be delving into a joyful music genre that combines elements of Funk, Soul and Hip Hop with Jazz and Disco.Originating in UK clubland in the late 80’s and combining elements of the Rare Groove and Jazz Dance scenes the Acid Jazz movement took off in the early 90’s.
A myriad of live acts took the sound global including Jamiroquai , The Brand New Heavies, Galliano, James Taylor Quartet, Incognito, The Digable Planets and many more.
Brighton was at the forefront of the Acid Jazz scene with Russ Dewbury’s Jazz Bop live event showcasing many of these artists to packed out crowds.
Come and join us on Saturday November 16th as Russ together with very special guest DJ Jan Kinkaid (Ex The Brand New Heavies/MF Robots) take us on a musical trip back to these heady times with a Party celebrating these timeless grooves.
