Sunday, October 6, 6:00 - 7:30 pmShalom Spirituality Center
The “Souposium” is a mini-symposium held over a light soup and bread meal, happening one Sunday each month from September through November – watch our schedule for dates.
Facilitated by Rick Mihm, the Souposiums will help us to address the strained (and sometimes broken) relationships in our world today. Whether it be relationships between friends, neighbors, family members, communities or nations, almost everyone is feeling the effects of anger and division. Each Souposium session will focus on a particular protocol which can help to rebuild and strengthen the relationships in our lives.
The October Souposium will focus on the value of humor to reduce fear and anxiety, resolve conflicts, and help weather disappointments. Jim Jelinske will offer a presentation entitled, “Inspiring the Soul with Humor–You Can’t Be Serious!” Humor helps people take back their sense of power in a powerless situation and it helps them connect with others. Humor unites us, especially when we laugh together.
Free-will donation only; please RSVP online at shalomretreats.org or by calling 563.582.3592 by Thursday, October 3.
