We invite you to join us for The Sounds of Lent
on Saturday, March 14th, 2026 at 7:30PM at the Greek Orthodox Archdiocesan Cathedral of the Holy Trinity.
This year’s concert will be offered in loving memory of Maestro Dino Anagnost — beloved Music Director of the Archdiocesan Cathedral
for nearly four decades, internationally acclaimed conductor, and devoted servant of our Church — on the occasion of the fifteenth anniversary of his falling asleep in the Lord.
For generations at the Archdiocesan Cathedral, he was simply “The Maestro” — a master musician, passionate Hellene, and devoted Christian. Dino inspired countless singers, instrumentalists, and young people. Nominated for a Grammy Award, he conducted more than 1,000 concerts at Alice Tully Hall, Carnegie Hall, Avery Fisher Hall, and here at the Archdiocesan Cathedral. Yet beyond the accolades, Dino was above all a champion of youth, making it especially fitting that our Archdiocesan Cathedral Youth Choir will be featured in this year’s Lenten concert.
The concert program will feature selected sacred works by Dino Anagnost, including selections from the Lamentations of Holy Friday, alongside masterworks by composers he championed, with excerpts from Antonio Vivaldi’s Stabat Mater and Giuseppe Verdi’s Requiem. The evening will also include music by
his esteemed contemporaries Theodore Bogdanos and Frank Desby, as well as a premiere selection by our Archdiocesan Cathedral Organist and former Dino Anagnost Artist-in-Residence, Dawn Helene — all performed by the combined forces of the Archdiocesan Cathedral Choir, Youth Choir, & Orchestra.
The evening will conclude with a light Lenten reception in the Cathedral Chiotes Hall, where you can enjoy fellowship and refreshments.
Virtual viewing available March 21 through Pascha.
