The “Soul of Aging” offers a transformative journey for individuals seeking to explore the spiritual dimensions of their aging process within a supportive community. This retreat delves into profound questions surrounding forgiveness, spiritual development, self-expression, our relationship with time, the art of love and service, and the meaningful exploration of our mortality.
Rooted in the groundbreaking teachings of Dr. Parker J Palmer, the program adopts the Circle of Trust approach developed by the Centre for Courage and Renewal. This method establishes a secure, confidential, and sacred space where participants assist each other in accessing the voice of their souls.
Throughout the retreat, participants develop the art of deep listening and learn to foster environments conducive to honest sharing and self-discovery. Each participant leaves with a self-created collage depicting their envisioned future and a comprehensive workbook.

Diane MacCormack is trained and experienced in “Soul of Aging” facilitation. She is a retired public health nurse and a spiritual seeker who found the “Circle of Trust” approach helpful in her own growth. From there, she continued her growth through practices like centering prayer and contemplative practices. She found meaning in pilgrimages, Celtic Christianity, Taize, visiting cathedrals, attending hermitages and walking labyrinths around the world, including right here at Bethlehem Centre.
