Join us on WEDNESDAY, March 19TH AT 6PM for a special Jazz Explorers, as we celebrate 11 years of one of our favorite record labels, International Anthem Recording Company (IARC)! During the event, you'll have a chance to hear one of our favorite releases from IARC, as well as one of their 2025 releases!

Thanks to our friends at IARC, attendees will receive a FREE ZINE, plus all attendees will have a chance to win some of IARC’s anniversary releases on vinyl!

Founded in 2014, the IARC label has grown to embody a global community of like-minded artists, musicians, and cultural workers dedicated to craft as a means of discovering truth and celebrating humanity.

The ongoing mission of IARC is to make generative and sustainable contributions to culture and industry, and to vitalize demand for boundary-defying music.

About the Society:

Since opening our doors in 2020, one thing we hear over and over again from our customers is that they would like to get into jazz but they don’t know where to begin. We get it! There are so many entry points and the sheer size of the genre can scare people off before they even start exploring. So, we decided to do something about it.⁣

Welcome to 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗦𝗼𝗰𝗶𝗲𝘁𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝗝𝗮𝘇𝘇 𝗘𝘅𝗽𝗹𝗼𝗿𝗲𝗿s. The Society will be a 𝗙𝗥𝗘𝗘 𝗺𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗵𝗹𝘆 𝗷𝗮𝘇𝘇 𝗹𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 at Rust & Wax Record Shop. Each month will have a new theme and 1-2 albums that fit that theme, only the catch is, you won’t know the albums before showing up. Because we believe this act of exploration isn’t just for discovering music you haven’t heard before, it’s also about rediscovering an album you may have forgotten or hearing it in a new light. ⁣

Whether you’re new to the genre, a seasoned veteran of jazz, or someone floating in between those two extremes, 𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙧𝙚’𝙨 𝙖 𝙥𝙡𝙖𝙘𝙚 𝙛𝙤𝙧 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙞𝙣 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙎𝙤𝙘𝙞𝙚𝙩𝙮 𝙤𝙛 𝙅𝙖𝙯𝙯 𝙀𝙭𝙥𝙡𝙤𝙧𝙚𝙧𝙨. If you’re new to the genre, our goal is to provide you with easy on-ramps, so that you can find your sweet spots without feeling overwhelmed. If you’re a long-term jazz head, our goal is to introduce you to new artists, new subgenres under the jazz umbrella, possibly get you to revisit albums you may already know, and simply expand your love and appreciation of the genre. ⁣
