The Snow Queen

Pine Tree Players is pleased to present The Snow Queen by Charles Way based on the story by Hans Christian Andersen, directed by Kelsey James.

Please bring your own seating, blankets and festival chairs are preferred.

The performance on Saturday July 13 will have the option of live audio description by Courtney Michele.

Childhood friends Gerda and Cei are the closest of companions. Where Cei is brash and daring, Gerda is steady and kind. When Cei’s heart is hardened by a strange enchantment, she is stolen away by the Snow Queen. Gerda must brave the elements to rescue her, embarking on a quest across the seasons. With the help of new friends she meets along the way, Gerda must find the courage to save the world from endless winter.

Based in Scandinavian folklore, this modern adaptation of Hans Christian Andersen’s classic tale is a beautiful depiction of the power of love and is sure to delight audiences of all ages.

This play contains:

Themes of love, isolation, abuse, and violence;

Depictions of verbal abuse, pain, anxiety, panic, and grief;

Implication of self-harm; and

Presence of theatrical firearms and knives.
