An East Asian Tea Ritual — Dongfang Meiren (東方美人茶)
About this Event
You’re invited into a slower, spacious breathwork and sound journey designed to support softening, integration, and embodied transition.
We begin with an East Asian tea ritual featuring Dongfang Meiren, a rare Taiwanese oolong grown in clean mountain environments and carefully hand-picked, prized for its naturally honeyed aroma and depth of flavor as well as its smooth, calming energy and lingering warmth.
The tea’s sweetness comes from being touched, by insects, by weather, by time. What might seem like damage becomes part of its beauty, leaving behind a scent that lingers long after the cup is empty.
Through mindful sipping and subtle guidance, we explore how warmth, aroma, and taste move through the body, inviting presence without effort and allowing sensation to unfold rather than be analyzed.
From there, you’ll be guided into a brief journaling practice to notice what feels ready to soften or release, and what is quietly asking to be welcomed. The session continues with a grounded, nervous-system-aware breathwork journey, followed by an extended gong bath to support deep rest and integration. The sounds move gently through the body, offering space for what has already been stirred to settle and be absorbed.
Dongfang Meiren is often described as a tea transformed by challenge—leaves shaped by time, touch, and change. This gathering reflects the same wisdom: allowing what has already happened to soften, settle, and become part of the body’s lived experience.
This is a quiet, ceremonial experience held at a slower pace than a typical studio class. Sharing is optional. Silence is welcome.
