The Smashing Bumpkins and The LagerRhythms KKFI Fundraiser

On Wednesday, March 12th, The Smashing Bumpkins and The LagerRhythms will play a lively intimate show supporting KKFI Kansas City. The show will be in the Tap Room at Waldo Pizza. Doors open at 5:30 pm and the show starts at 7:00 pm.

Kansas City based band, the Smashing Bumpkins (The Artists Formerly Known as The Whiskey Basin Boys), have been playing together since 1996. The band just wrapped their 'Colorado Tour '24' in the Front Range of the Rockies, with the whole Bumpkin band, Hank Hart, Kent Brauninger, Chuck Schmitz, Mark Schroer, and Dana Rodenbaugh. For 3 decades, the Smashing Bumpkins have been playing classic bluegrass and folk songs as well as some of their original songs across the Midwest.

The LagerRhythms are a Kansas City based band made up of fun people who love their music and have lived it their whole lives. Their mix of acoustic, jazz, and blues music makes for unique, ever-changing live shows. Members Sam, Payton, Hank, and Kara have played everywhere from local pubs to office parties and large venues such as the Paola Kansas Roots Festival.

Started in 1988, KKFI has been the Kansas City area’s independent, noncommercial community radio station for over 3 decades now. The KKFI studios have been in 4 different locations in that time, all in the Westport area. KKFI is the Kansas City area’s independent, noncommercial community radio station. They seek to stimulate, educate and entertain their audience, to reflect the diversity of the local and world community, and to provide a channel for individuals and groups, issues and music that have been overlooked, suppressed or under-represented by other media. KKFI is a vital Kansas City institution and we are thrilled to donate all proceeds from ticket and merchandise sales from the show, to support KKFI and their mission.

The two-hour show will start at 7:00 PM and doors will open at 5:30 PM on Wednesday, March 12th in the Tap Room at Waldo Pizza.

Food and drink from Waldo Pizza will be available for purchase throughout the show.

Seating is first come first serve at shared tables. Please arrive early to select your seat.

Tickets are required for entry.
