Get ready for the ultimate extreme sport! Armoured knights from Australia and England are descending on Kryal Castle this March to battle it out in a legendary jousting tournament – The Smashes.
This epic Australia verses England clash will be held at Ballarat’s Kryal Castle on Saturday 29th and Sunday 30th March.
Feel the power of bone-rattling impacts from 3.5-meter wooden lances as jousters on horseback charge at speeds of up to 40km/h all in full armour weighing 50kg - exactly how it was in the Middle Ages.
The action doesn’t stop at the jousting arena - prepare to immerse yourself in a full medieval adventure for the whole family with:
- Authentic medieval merchants offering everything from handcrafted garments to sparkling jewels;
- Demonstrations by blacksmiths carpenters and other craftsmen as they bring historic skills to life;
- Birds of prey in full flight;
