Announcing our first dance competition!!!THE SLOW DOWN THROW DOWN!
A swing dance competition… but make it SASSY.
We’re bringing something new to Slow Ass Swing Social (SASS) — a fun, friendly competition that celebrates musicality, connection, and pure groove. This isn’t about speed or tricks — it’s about style, expression, and that delicious slow swing flavor.
Any style welcome — Lindy Hop, West Coast, Slow Drag, Fusion, whatever moves you.
A 3 song strictly throwdown! Come with a partner or find one at the social
Judges will be watching for creativity, groove, and connection (not just fancy footwork).
$5 per person to sign up (that's 10 per couple)
$100 cash and Prize Medallion for the winning couple!
Because slowing down doesn’t mean holding back.
Let’s make this the fiercest, most joyful swing showdown in Portland.

Slow Ass Swing Social is every third Sunday! Designed for those who appreciate the art of moving with intention and style with their dance partners.
DANCE WORKSHOP Lindy Hop Lab from 4 - 6 PM that focuses on LINDY HOP and BLUES with its background in BLACK HISTORY.

Then, from 6 till 8 PM, we will DJ music that is SLOW and JAZZY, mixed in with some SOUL and FUNK.
