WOW – this is not something we see everyday at the Gregson. As part of their tour of the UK we are delighted to announce that two highly acclaimed international bands – The Skys (Lithuania) and Ainakanna (Japan) are brining us a night to remember at the Gregson. Kindly organised by founder of Lancaster Music Festival – Ben Ruth.THE SKYS is a renowned Lithuanian rock band, described by local critics as “the best Lithuanian rock export”.
They have collaborated with some of the most iconic names in the music industry, including Snowy White (Thin Lizzy; Roger Waters) and Neil Taylor (Robbie Williams), and toured over 30 countries, captivating audiences worldwide.
They are Akademia Hall of Famers.
AINAKANNA is a 2-piece (piano & drums) Female Rock Group playing a unique style of pop rock with a Japanese touch, adding aspects of J-Pop mixed with western rock.
Aina Ougi is a Singer/songwriter who sings intensely while playing piano. She made a major debut with Victor in 2005, one of the biggest labels in Japan that has developed numerous careers. She also sings the theme song of the popular Japanese horror movie shown worldwide, “Rinne”.
Kanna is a rock’n roll drummer who has had sessions with many famous Japanese musicians.
The Concept is “Minimum × Maximum”. They are a 2 piece band which is a “minimum,” but their sound is the “Maximum”.
