Once thought lost to time, the decades-old Sky Chiefs recordings were rediscovered in a sweltering attic in 2024 - making this record release nothing short of miraculous.Singer-songwriters Kevin Pittman & Stephen McCarthy separately spent years playing music in Los Angeles but now call Richmond home. Built around soaring country harmony vocals and a driving rhythmic pulse, the sound draws deeply from vintage roots music while adding a modern edge. The songs move through heartbreak, infatuation, unrequited love, and moments of hymn-like redemption.
The band also features multi-instrumentalist Charles Arthur, who played on the original recording. Stewart Meyers bass guitar and Mark Henderson drums, fill out the rhythm section.
