About this Event

First Fridays at The Back Table are your destination for an evening of live music. Our format is 5 bands, all ages audience, 6-11 PM, $10 cover. We want you to enjoy some of the best of Greensboro's local music.
The Silo Series is hosted by Tom Troyer (of Farewell Friend). Hear new songs by your host performed solo every month. Then enjoy 5 other artists or bands in a mid capacity listening room.
The Back Table has three rooms. The first is a bar and cafe, the second is where you can enjoy music, and the third is a cozy conversation room. Come hang out with friends in the kind of third space where you can feel comfortable and inspired.
Let me tell you some about the artists featured for April 4.
One thing you may not know about Tom Troyer is he's worked closely with a non profit called We Carry Kevan. The organization is the result of a backpacking trip to Europe with his friend Kevan in the backpack. He and his friends have since distributed over 1500 backpacks around the world to help facilitate mobility and adventure.
Laura Jane Vincent is a local supporter and practitioner of the music community. On any given day she is working on a music festival, music curriculum, booking, a record label, artist management, band tour support, or mentorship. Her most recent album "Interstellar" is a work we will be celebrating at this Silo Series. Members of the studio band will be on stage recreating the expansive resonance that is her most recent offering.
Dreemy Band consists of a few of the local open mics greatest powerhouses. Andreya, Gary, and Miguel are here to spirit you all away in some raw, heartfelt, subversive anthems.
Sam Thorn comes from Durham with some sad songs. And you better know, theyre very sad songs. You'll love it and he makes no apologies he's plumbing the debths with songs and saxophone, the later you can anticipate making an appearance throughout the evening.
FM Snow can't be described but you'll want to try and tell your friends after you hear them. Here's "What Matters", you should just listen to them.

Welcome back, did you see what I did there?
Anyway,
Last on my list is to tell you about Transcendental Weather. Or you could read all about them and their spiritual approach to music in their Yes Weekly write up...
"Pop Punk music for fairies, embodied by June’s senses of emotive magic relayed in song. “I’m very spiritual, so I try to incorporate what I’ve learned into my music,” they said. “Empathetically, I put my feelings into my music so when others listen to it they can feel and truly resonate with it. My magic is within my music.” - Yes Weekly
Alright that's all you get. We expect you there with your friends, making friends, making memories. Come for the songs and stay for the good times.
One final note about the Back Table. The one thing we all agree on is "we are pro pockets". Please understand this. It isn't negotiable. Ok It's somewhat negotiable and fluid but it's a movement you need to be a part of.
(after reviewing, a note from management)
"Also, Pro Pockets doesn't mean we're forcing pockets on you. If you don't like them, that's totally cool. But let's not deny people pockets"
