About this Event
Mark your calendars for October 15, 2024!
We are thrilled to announce our annual fundraiser and the CoLab artists reception.
The “CoLab” is a unique art exhibit where professional artists and artists with disabilities are paired together to learn from each other, build friendships, and create stunning art. The pieces from this collaboration will be auctioned off at the fundraiser, with all proceeds benefiting The Show. The exhibit will showcase a diverse range of work, celebrating creativity, innovation, and inclusion. The event will be held at the Bakken Museum in Minneapolis, MN.
We are also excited to bring back the prestigious ‘Bill Murray Choice Award!’ Yes, you read that right—Bill Murray, the legendary actor, will be picking his favorite piece from the exhibit, an honor he has bestowed in previous CoLab Exhibits. Past recipients have been thrilled and deeply honored to receive this recognition.
The Show, formerly The Show Gallery in St. Paul's Lowertown, continues to evolve out of the COVID 19 disruption. The purpose is to reorganize our efforts to help connect artists with all abilities with a most interested public audience with the intention to increase awareness and to provide display and sales opportunities of quality art. For more than 10 years, The Show has played a major role in recognizing and nurturing gifted artists with disabilities, who oftentimes are ignored or unrecognized and helping launch this increasingly popular and viable genre. For example, The Show has met, supported and promoted quality art in its gallery and its many art exhibits, and community-based art expositions such as the iconic St. Paul Art Crawl and St. Paul Saints Baseball games.
Our goals of The Show are:
- Recruit and empower quality board of director members with and without disabilities to help lead The Show forward.
- Recognize our strengths and weaknesses and develop an appropriate marketing plan to introduce to our target artists to join our online directory, a service called The Show Marketplace (TSM). And also work with key partners and create new partnerships and formally introduce TSM & its capabilities & assets, to continue to help our artists expand their reach and opportunities to live their dreams of being a professional & successful artist!
- Continue to refine and update our website to assure that our efforts are truly supported by our state-of-the art-website.
