Shoreside beach venue on Cornwall’s south coast is bringing the magic of live music events back to the beach at Carlyon Bay this summer – introducing The Weekender! The new two-day evening event will take place over the late May bank holiday weekend – May 25th and 26th – with a line-up including The Bohemians, dubbed the world’s most exciting Queen tribute, UKU2 known for celebrating the legendary Irish rock band and Ibiza icons Café Mambo.
The location has a rich musical history, beloved by both locals and visitors, having been home to the iconic Cornwall Coliseum - which in its hay day of the 1970’s and 80’s welcomed major acts such as Thin Lizzy, The Clash, The Police, Iron Maiden, Cliff Richard, and Bon Jovi to name but a few!
Saturday 25th May, from 18.00-23.00:
- The Bohemians – billed as the world’s most exciting Queen tribute, The Bohemians bring a high energy, bombastic performance from start to finish. Honouring the many fabulous Queen hits such as One Vision and A Kind of Magic to the harmony heavy wonders of Killer Queen and Don’t Stop Me Now.
- UKU2 – Europe premier U2 tribute show has won the hearts of many over their 22-year history. Playing for audiences all over the world, including U2’s after show party at the Heineken Stadium for two nights on the Dutch leg of their Vertigo tour.
Sunday 26th May, from 18.00-23.00:
- Café Mambo had humble beginnings, but what started with the small spark of an idea and a dilapidated finca on the coastal rocks of San Antonio has grown into a worldwide phenomenon. Today, Mambo is an Ibizan rite of passage. Synonymous with spectacular west coast sunsets and famed across the world from Miami to Dubai, London to Tomorrowland, full scale festivals and bespoke gatherings.
In a first for the beach venue, Shoreside’s creating a fun new ticketed event for music lovers hosted on the sand, beside the sea – with tickets for both or individual nights now available from just £25, via Gigantic.com, with under 16’s half-price.
The Weekender event will be hosted in a pop-up festival style arena on the beach. The Shoreside beach venue and the wider beach, will remain open to the public.
