In the 1940's upstanding banker Andy Dufresne is imprisoned for the double murder of his wife and her lover and must begin his new life at the Shawshank prison. During his time in prison, Andy stands by his statements of innocence as he puts his accounting skills to work for an amoral warden, all while coming to be admired by his fellow inmates, namely an older man named Red, for his integrity and seemingly unstoppable sense of hope.
