About this Event
The symposium will bring together researchers and teachers who see knowledge as an object of study that is central to addressing all educational questions. The Symposium will explore the social conditions of knowledge production and exchange as well as its structuring in the curriculum. A key concern is the relationship between different forms of knowledge, its transmission and evaluation, and social positioning and mobility. Especially encouraged are contributions from those currently engaged in empirical enquiries into curricula, pedagogy and assessment that are informed by the family of traditions, such as social realism and Bernsteinian studies, which has established this as a primary focus.
