WHAT: A new adaptation of Anton Chekhov's The Seagull created by the cast and Instrumental Theatre Company directed by Skylar Grieco. Working together as an ensemble, we will be adapting the text, creating original music, and finding unique ways for this to blend together and deepen the connection between audience and performers.WHERE: We will be performing a site specific production at The Berger Park North Mansion. Resting high on the shore of Lake Michigan, this 116 year old mansion in Chicago’s Edgewater neighborhood will serve as our playing space in which artists and audience members will share the turn of the century beauty just inches away from each other. Seeing as the play itself takes place in a lakeside estate, albeit in the Russian countryside, we couldn’t think of a more perfect place to stage this story in Chicago.
WHEN: The play runs September 11th - 27th.
Thursday & Fridays @ 7:00 PM
Saturdays @ 3:00 PM
TICKETS: Tickets are $20 and seating is limited. A small quantity of $10 tickets will be made available for each performance.
ACCESSIBILITY NOTE: Act One of The Seagull will take place outside for approximately 20 minutes. The remainder of the play will take place inside the North Mansion. The Mansion is not fully accessible. There is a flight of entryway stairs to enter.
