The Songwriter's Association of Washington Open Mic at the New Deal Cafe is hosted by Lynn Hollyfield and is the FIRST Tuesday of the Month with a featured artist. For September, Valeria Stewart will be performing. Sign ups start at 6PM for 2 songs/10 minutes. OM 6:30-8 and 8:30-9:30. Valeria performs 8-8:30PM. Guitarist, Vocalist, Singer Songwriter Valeria Stewart delivers a captivating multilingual performance that blends Latin, folk, jazz, and Americana roots. Valeria is originally from Buenos Aires, Argentina and grew up in the DC area. She is a part time preschool teacher in Falls Church and loves her work in support of families in transitional housing. As a musician Valeria performs solo or in a trio called Crooked Sparrow. Her first EP ‘The Alchemist’s Journey’ was released in 2020 as part of the duo Luna. Her current recording project, Raices, is an all Spanish album of original songs. She is most happy when sharing her music with other people and making a connection through it.
