About this Event
More than just an event, it's an experience... introducing black girls breathing's the sanctuary.
join us as we use the breath to come back home to the body.
black girls breathing® provides a safe space for Black women to manage their mental health, heal trauma in their body, and decrease chronic stress and anxiety. We've impacted over 61,000+ Black women to date by providing free and accessible mental health resources, with a plan to impact 1 Million by 2025.
Join us as we bring our work back to NYC for the first time in 5 years! This is a smaller event space than our usual sessions, limited space available. We've implemented all of our learnings from making space for thousands of Black women to further curate how we facilitate and guide this somatic (healing of the body) work for a demographic that over-indexes on diseases stemming from consistent chronic stress. Deepen your inhales and lighten your loads with us as you learn and practice a valuable tool with an acclaimed and experienced facilitator.
Here’s what you can expect to gain from the sanctuary: a black girls breathing® breathwork experience:
- Practice powerful breathwork techniques to incorporate into your daily routine to combat daily stressors, decrease anxiety, and heal your body of trauma (as trauma is stored in the body, not the mind).
- Experience guidance and direction from our CEO & Founder Jasmine Marie. Jasmine Marie’s facilitation experience includes making space for thousands of people, from elite universities and Fortune 100 companies to juvenile detention centers, and her specific experience of facilitating for thousands of Black women has aided in her unique experience serving this demographic. Her work has been lauded by Oprah Magazine, , , , , , and Good Morning America to name a few.
- Feel seen and supported with instruction curated specifically for the Black woman's experience and unique emotional and mental health challenges.
- Receive journal prompts and other tools to take away and continue this healing work post-session.
- Connect with a like-minded sisterhood with other session attendees.
- Pour back into the health and wellbeing overall our community. Ticket sales support the continuation of accessibility of our work and provide resources to those who are financially strained (free mental health toolkits, free meditation library and scholarships to our sunday balm® community). To date we've supported: 10,800+ no-cost slots and reduced cost slots to our virtual breathwork sessions, delivery of 59,000+ free mental health toolkits and 12-month free access to unemployed / financially strained Black women to our sunday balm® community (online platform with 24/7 access to mental health resources).

About breathwork:
breathwork is a powerful active meditation technique used to usher stagnant energy out of the body, help acknowledge and release difficult emotions and traumas, and decrease anxiety and stress by reframing the nervous system’s response to triggers.
Please avoid any heavy eating prior to the session due to the active nature of the breathwork. This session was created with intention for self-identifying Black women.
Please purchase your tickets with intention as tickets are non-refundable and non-transferable to other session dates.
We look forward to breathing with you soon, sis!
