About this Event
We are fortunate to have a return visit from Ed Baines, who gave us a fascinating talk, last year, about the foundation of the Royal School for the Deaf.
This new talk will include a short review of the beginnings of the school, and then look at the education and care of the deaf and other disabled pupils at the Charity and see which individuals played a prominent role.In a project supported by the Seashell Trust, the modern incarnation of the former Royal Manchester School for the Deaf, MLFHS volunteers have indexed the surviving admission registers to the school. These are of value both to family historians and to those investigating the history and genetic aspects of deafness.
