While sharing testimony at a local event a number of years ago, a woman, who I had just met, explained to me the notion of living life wide or living deep. That you can set up roots in one place and grow your life deep like a majestic oak, or spread your seeds in the wind like rolling fields of dancing wildflowers. Neither is right nor wrong, better or worse, no more or less fulfilling. They are simply different paths.
Gypsy Melodies - a folk opry is a collection of original songs and stories of love and loss and a long road home, the good times and the bad (mostly good) of a wide-lived life. Added to the evening’s set list is an eclectic selection of covers that have inspired me along the way.
The Roxanne Delage Trio, featuring local musicians, Rodney Best and Terry Brown, is delighted to be performing for you at The Battery Cafe, Friday, January 2, 2026.

Our max capacity is 35 so larger groups (>3 people) should purchase tickets well ahead of time. Walk-ins may be available on the day of the show - please drop in or call 709-722-9167 to confirm.
Our Kitchen closes at 3:00pm, but snacks and baked treats are available till 9:00.
Please arrive at least 15 mins early to get seated and avoid the rush. Groups of 3 or more will be assigned a table; free seating for singles and couples. Please check in with our staff at the front before seating yourself.
Seats will be held till 30 mins after the show start, after which they may be given to walk-ins. Tickets can alsop be transferred - login to https://locarius.io/.
