Tickets on sale NOW! 🎟️ Get dressed up and join us for an incredible evening, whilst raising money for a very important cause! In 2024 we held our first Rose Charity Ball and raised a huge £11,118.21 for Tiny Tickers- a children heart charity! ❤️🩹
We also were able to organise and provide SIX Pulse Oximetry Machines to Lincoln County Hospital Maternity Wing- so now every baby born in Lincoln will be checked for signs of congenital heart disease before leaving the hospital! 🏥
Why we support Tiny Tickers:
Hannah’s daughter, Phoebe was taken into hospital at 4 weeks old for suspected long jaundice. It was then the doctors discovered Phoebe had a heart murmur and proceeded to get emergency scans booked for later that day. When Phoebe left hospital over 12 hours later, she also left with news that she had two holes in her heart; one small (an ASD) and one significant (a VSD).❤️🩹
At 2.5 months old Phoebe was admitted to hospital with poor feeding. A few days later, Phoebe was showing signs of heart failure, she spent a further 5 weeks in hospital with lots of complications, worries and the potential of open heart surgery looming over her. When Phoebe was finally discharged, she still wasn’t out of the woods and surgery definitely wasn’t off the cards 😔
Thankfully, over the following months and now years, Phoebe has been defying all odds and is doing incredibly well. 🩷 Her recent scans show that Phoebe’s ASD has spontaneously closed, and the VSD is significantly smaller meaning our strong little fighter has avoided surgery, and is now to be monitored every 6-9 months! 👏🏻
During the time spent in hospital, Hannah felt incredibly alone. Her husband was having to look after their little boy, Rory at home whilst Hannah spent the majority of time in hospital with Phoebe. In this time she came across Tiny Tickers through Instagram, which was able to give her some hope in reading other people’s experiences, but not only that but some sense of control over the situation.
Tiny Tickers are a small UK based children's heart charity. Their aim is to increase early detection rates of cardiac conditions, because it is known that spotting a defect early can improve a baby’s chance of survival and long-term quality of life. It is estimated that around 6,000 babies are born with a serious heart defect in the UK each year, and like Phoebe, at least 1,000 of these newborns head home with no one knowing about their heart condition. 🤯
Through their sonographer training programme, they have helped the national average antenatal detection rate to more than double. They continue to place pulse oximetry meters in hospitals across the UK and provide support to families. As a charity, they are quite literally saving babies lives across the country but they need financial help to do this.
The Rose Charity Ball came about when Hannah suggested hosting a ball in aid of Tiny Tickers to raise funds for their vital research and training. The idea that we can help other families by organising these events means so much to us, especially after Phoebe’s ordeal. 💖
Although, Phoebes story has a happy ending, unfortunately this is not the outcome for all children, sometimes the outcome can be devastating. 💔 Our 2026 ball is dedicated to Koa Fisher, a boy of one of our sponsors and ongoing supporters who tragically passed away in January this year at just 13 weeks old, due to complications from his CHD. Although Phoebe was the inspiration for The Rose Charity Ball, there’s always been something bigger- raising awareness for CHD and honouring the brave little heart hero’s and their incredible families.
Our aim for our next ball is to raise even more money, and even more awareness for CHD, Tiny Tickers and heart families around the country. ❤️
