About this Event

Time spent in the garden is never wasted. Join authors Henry Agg and Amy Chapman for an inspiring conversation exploring how gardening can transform mental health and wellbeing. In this refreshing author talk, Henry and Amy draw on their personal experiences, research, and writing to uncover why tending to plants can also mean tending to ourselves. Guided by Katie Tyler, they will be sharing knowledge for busy gardeners who don't know where to begin in the pursuit of happiness through practical, outdoor activities.

Together, they discuss practical ways anyone can use gardening to reduce stress and reconnect with the natural world. Expect thoughtful insights, warm conversation, and plenty of take-home inspiration for cultivating both green spaces and inner peace.

is a garden designer and horticulturalist who has built a name for himself in the horticultural industry through his social media channels and has also appeared on BBC’s Gardeners’ World. He trained as a horticulturalist through the Royal Horticultural Society and garden design with The English Gardening School. He actively takes part in flower shows, such as RHS Chelsea Flower Show and Hampton Court. His can-do and hands-on practical attitude make him stand out in the online social media world.

started gardening when she bought her little cottage in the countryside of West Wales, complete with stream and ducks. It wasn’t something that had always been in her life. She was struggling with anxiety – something that had hindered Amy throughout her life and often stopped her from doing what she wanted to do. Having tried so many things to ease her symptoms: different types of exercise, yoga, therapy and lifestyle changes – whilst these methods all helped a little bit, none transformed Amy in the way that gardening has.
