The Roosevelt Room's Master Class Series - Tequila!

Agave is one of earth’s most bountiful and resilient plants. There are over 400 total species known to exist around the globe, but only one varietal was created and cultivated over the last five centuries specifically for the purpose of being distilled for humanity’s enjoyment - the renowned Weber Blue agave. Since that time, Tequila has slowly and steadily become one of the world’s most beloved spirits.
Join us for an immersive exploration of this exquisite agave distillate, from field to bottle and everything in between. Attendees will learn about the distinct styles of tequila, where and how they’re produced throughout Mexico, how those factors influence what’s in the glass, and what makes a particular brand so beautifully unique.
Attendees will get to enjoy two classic cocktails and a flight of ten noteworthy Tequilas - all of which have been hand-selected by our in-house experts - while learning about the fundamentals of nosing and tasting, discussing the predominant flavor characteristics of each style, their unique nuances, and what to look for in agave spirits of superior quality. At the end of the course, you’ll feel like a certified Tequila connoisseur!
Attendees must be 21 years of age. Class promptly begins at 12pm and concludes at 2:30pm. Hors d’oeuvres will be served at the beginning of the course. Guests are encouraged to stick around after the course concludes to enjoy our Sunday Happy Hour service at 3pm!

• Production techniques of all Tequilas, from harvest to fermentation to distillation, and beyond.

• How terroir (or “terruño” in Spanish) plays a significant role in the quality and flavor of the final product.
• A guided instruction on nosing and tasting Tequila, and how to identify and describe the subtle nuances of a particular style.
