About this Event
Despite America being a young country, its native grain-based spirits, also known as Whiskey, has gained worldwide fame due to its rich history that matches its exquisite taste and quality. Whiskey has been the drink of choice for many Americans since time immemorial, with Bourbon and Rye having been a constant companion as they’ve gone through life-changing and trend-setting phases throughout history. It was sipped by our founding fathers when America was incepted, has survived countless wars & rebellions, lived through a thirteen-year-long prohibition, and has come out stronger than ever. Strap in as we go on a trip through the history of our domestic tipple.
In this in-depth course, attendees will enjoy two classic cocktails and taste through a flight of ten American Whiskies - including Bourbon, Rye, Wheat whiskey, Corn whiskey, Malt whiskey, and more - while learning about their origin, what makes each one unique, and how they have evolved since our nation was founded.
In addition to learning about each spirit, attendees will receive instruction by our team of experts on the fundamentals of nosing and tasting spirits in order to understand and appreciate their trademark qualities. Attendees will walk away with the tools they need to identify what makes American Whiskies of superior quality. You’re certain to leave feeling like a certified Master of Whiskey!
Attendees must be 21 years of age. Class promptly begins at 12pm and concludes at 2:30pm. Hors d’oeuvres will be served at the beginning of the course. Guests are encouraged to stick around after the course concludes to enjoy our Sunday Happy Hour service at 3pm!
