About this Event
“Spanish Tony was a hard man. Biff bang! One of those. He ran a gambling casino for Spanish waiters, after hours. He was a dope dealer… with a Mark 10 Jaguar, two-tone, all done up pimp-style.” (Keith Richards, Life, 2010)
Following the rip roaring success of Rolling Stones: Elegantly Wasted earlier this year, Bayliss Rare Books and Spanish Tony Media are reuniting for a three day pop up in Soho this December. The pop up will feature most of the previously unseen photographs from Elegantly Wasted, as well as a number of never-before-seen Spanish Tony photographs of The Rolling Stones. It will be the first time these photos have ever been seen.
The three day pop up on Greek Street from the 3rd to the 5th of December also features a 20% discount on all prints ahead of Christmas (we did think of calling the pop up Festively Wasted but alas this never made it off the drawing board!).
Spanish Tony (so called by Keith Richards) was both friend and fixer to The Rolling Stones, working and living with them during their most important years. From Beggars Banquet through to The Rock and Roll Circus and onto their now infamous exile in the South of France, Tony had unprecedented access to the band. Originally thought to be lost (unbeknownst to anyone, they were in a loft in South London for decades), these photos are the most idiosyncratic shots of the band a collector could hope for.
