About this Event
An Intimacy Coordinator (IC) helps keep performers safer whilst supporting the creative vision of the Director.
Intimacy Coordinator Mattea Kennedy, SAG - AFTRA certitied, will lead a small and applied workshop about the skillset and mindset needed to become an Intimacy Coordinator for film and television productions.
Mattea Kennedy will cover topics such as - the history of the role and why it's needed; the roles and responsibilities of an IC including aspects of consent, chain of communication; when and how an IC works within the stages of pre-production, production and post-production, and the types of training and certification needed to become an IC.
The last hour of the workshop includes experiential learning where participants will each get to round robin roleplay as director, performer and IC so that participants learn how the role works in relation to others on set.
The workshop will be limited to 12 participants. This will be a first come, first serve RSVP, but a reserved spot will have to be confirmed several days before the workshop. If you have to cancel closer to the date, please do so, as this will free up a spot for someone else wanting to take the workshop.
Please note: This is a mature topic - those who feel uncomfortable discussing intimate scenarios should not participate. If there is any immature or untowards behaviour during the workshop, participants will be asked to leave.
