Catch the 1975 cult classic film, The Rocky Horror Picture Show adapted from Richard O’Brian’s "The Rocky Horror Show" musical that was released two years prior in London.
Midnight showings of this film quickly inspired fans to create a night-life like no other – People dressed up like the characters, threw props, and created call-back jokes in an environment where people of all walks of life felt free to express themselves. The lack of plot (and little morals) are made up for by flashy costumes and catchy music.
Now there are groups called shadow-casts all around the world who have people dedicated to mirroring and dressing up like the actors in the movie for an immersive audience experience. The casts act, sing, and dance on stage while the movie plays. Audience members engage through the clever use of props (prop kits available for purchase before the show at only $5) and the audience members shout a combo of classic and self-curated one-liners.
