Founded in 1998, the Rochester Metropolitan Jazz Orchestra was established to provide entertaining and educational big band enrichment to the Rochester community. Currently under the direction of BJ Comer, RMJO performs a vast array of traditional and contemporary big band literature in a wide variety of public and private venues across the region, including the Rochester International Jazz Festival.
The band's third album, Just Friends, features styles ranging from Dixieland to classic vocal ballads to Rock to Contemporary Big Band. Come experience the power of thirteen horns backed by a full rhythm section, and fronted by two of the area's best female vocalists.
CDs will be on sale for $15, beer will be flowing, and good times will be had.
