The Ritual of Yin Yoga Training with Elyza Dolby
Advertisement
An intuitive & inclusive training on the energetic + physical practice of yin yoga through the lens of ritual. Open to all who are curious about deepening their connection to yin yoga as a regular practice in their own lives, and to yoga teachers who are looking to add yin yoga to their offerings. This training will include the use of sound medicine, essential oils, ceremony, and other healing modalities in addition to the study of yin yoga, as initially taught by Bernie Clark. His book, "The Complete Guide to Yin Yoga," is the only required reading for this course, and needs to be purchased/read prior to day one.
Day One: Receiving
Arrive with all that you are carrying. Drop into a cacao circle followed by an immersive healing practice to build relationship with yin yoga in your own body. From this place of increased receptivity, we will open a circle to begin the transmissions known as Yin Yoga. Throughout this hands-on, interactive evening, we will contemplate & fill in the blanks of the practice, answering questions like: Why does Yin Yoga have the incredible impact that it does on those who practice it regularly? What are the Energetics behind Yin Yoga? How is the physical body affected by Yin Yoga? How does one create optimal healing space for themselves or students to practice Yin Yoga? Why is Yin Yoga practiced best as a ritual (a regular practice that is returned to frequently)? And more. You will leave this night both feeling full, and having prepared the necessary space to dive into the rest of the weekend together.
Day Two: Giving
We will begin the day with a practice to pick up where we left off, and bridge us from the abundance of receiving into the gift of giving. One of the greatest privileges of sharing Yin yoga as a practitioner is the potential for cultivating a sacred space for yourself & your students to deeply heal... so when you are ready, we dive into this space to learn the heart of the practice together, including, but not limited to:
⁃ The 26 Yin Postures, including the 5 yin & 2 Yang Archetypal poses that are considered the foundation of the practice
⁃ Working with the Meridians
⁃ Intentional Sequencing
⁃ Creating with Ritual & Yin
⁃ How to serve your students with yin
⁃ Inclusive yin offerings
We will end this full day of learning with a short but sweet practice to prepare you for integrating all of the wisdom into your own unique offering(s.)
Day Three: Integration
To integrate means to make into a whole or incorporate into a larger structure, and this is the most crucial piece of the yin puzzle... both for this course, and for whatever you create from it next. We will spend the day dreaming up your own unique flair as a yin practitioner, either in your personal life or for clients. This will include time for Q&A, contemplation, creating your first yin offering, sharing this heart offering with the group, and conversations on how to infuse integration into your practices. Our weekend will close with a ritual circle to bring it all together & celebrate the journey that is just beginning.
In this training, you will receive:
⁃ Daily yin offerings
⁃ Opening Cacao Circle
⁃ Closing Integration Ritual
⁃ Ritual practices for yin & your daily life
⁃ Comprehensive learnings of the heart of yin yoga, including but not limited to: The 26 Yin Postures (the 5 yin & 2 Yang Archetypal poses that are considered the foundation of the practice,) Working with the Meridians, Intentional Sequencing, Creating with Ritual & Yin, How to serve your students with yin, and Inclusive Yin offerings
⁃ Integrating your Yin Practice
⁃ A lively community to deepen your yin journey with
⁃ And more!
At the end of this training, you should be able to:
⁃ Have a deeper relationship with & understanding of the practice of yin yoga
⁃ Create your own intentional yin practices & rituals
⁃ Build a strong personal yin practice
⁃ Teach yin yoga to others*, if desired
⁃ Understand the heart of yin yoga & why this practice is so crucial for our world today
⁃ Dream big with how you can utilize yin yoga in your own unique way
⁃ Integrate this training into your life (& build integration practices into your yin offerings)
⁃ And of course, share yin from the heart, however you personally see fit!
Option for 1-1 support afterwards with a private mentorship with Elyza ~ reach out to her directly for more information.
*Please note: This course is open to ALL mind, body & spirit practitioners who feel called to deepen their understanding of Yin, including but not limited to yoga & movement teachers & students, energy workers, therapists, educators, and more. However, if you plan to share this with others, it is highly recommended that you have at least a 200hr YTT, or deeper understanding of anatomy & the body, as this course only briefly discusses these due to this being an immersion style weekend with limited time (& SO much goodness to cover.) If you intend to share this with others, but desire a deeper dive with Elyza, she is available for 1-1 mentorship after this course's completion.
Price: $444 member or $555 non member.
About Elyza:
Elyza Dolby is a 500-RYT yoga instructor, space holder, movement facilitator, and mama to a bright little sun, currently living + loving in the mountains of Northwest New Jersey.
Her journey with yoga first began in the late 90’s at a YMCA on the Eastern Shore of Maryland where she decided she was NOT a fan. She eventually returned “home” to her mat after a traumatic experience and years of self-destruction to find her unique healing path which included yoga, cacao, breathwork, meditation, and other earth medicines.
She is certified in an array of modalities that she loves bringing together in unique ways & sharing with others who are passionate about finding their own personal healing journey, including Yin, Kundalini, Hatha, Prenatal, and Trauma Informed Yoga Practices, Rebirthing & Meditation, Yoga Nidra, Sound Healing, Energy Work + more. Most recently, she started her journey towards supporting mamas in pregnancy & beyond as a doula & gentle birth worker.
