Professor Dirk-Jan Koch will give his inaugural lecture investigating the changes to Dutch development cooperation during the 73rd anniversary celebration of the International Institute of Social Studies.In January 2025, Professor Koch was selected as an ISS Network Chair. Within this appointment, he focuses on creating linkages between the great research efforts of Erasmus scholars, their partners in the Global South and policy makers in the Netherlands and Europe.
Professor Koch's current research focuses on the unintended effects of foreign aid. In 2023 he published 'Foreign aid and its unintended consequences', also available as an Open Access publication.
