The Solipsistics are back, and yes — they still believe the world revolves around them. Making beautiful music about terrible feelings since the late ’90s, they’re here to prove that existential dread sounds better with a catchy piano hook. Still brooding, still funny, still dangerously catchy.
Bean was a power-pop group from the early 90s, most famous for sharing a split 7” on Flipside with a then-unknown Beck. The band featured Steve Moramarco who went on to form The Abe Lincoln Story and later Superbean and Gwynne Kahn, pioneering garage rock bassist/keyboardist who played in such bands as The Leaving Trains, The Negro Problem, The Pandoras, Mad Monster Party, and Backstage Pass. They also released a 7” on Dionysus before splitting up. Now reformed 35 years later, they are playing a string of shows in the LA area
The Outset is a rock 'n' roll band from Southern California that makes high-energy, high-volume Mod and Freakbeat music, taking heavy cues from British groups such as The Who, The Yardbirds, The Creation, and The Kinks, as well as American bands from the 60s like Buffalo Springfield, The Byrds, and Nazz.
