Well, 'the return' suggests that he has been away! He has but he hasn't -- he's simply been on tour. And now we at the People's Bookshop are thrilled and privileged to welcome him back to Durham.Even better, having sold out our little Attic room bookshop on his previous visit, we are bringing him back to a significantly larger space. Our friends at the Northern Stores and Deli in the Prince Bishops shopping centre have very generously opened their doors to him (and us) so now we have room for 75 people.

Hailing from Scarborough, Joe is an award-winning musician, writer, activist and broadcaster. He started out while still at school as the frontman of a bash-em-out band, moved on to form Lithium Joe, and now performs mostly solo as, well, Joe Solo.He describes his style as 'folk-punk' and says, 'I'm folk enough to know that music matters and punk enough to not give a f**k what anyone thinks of it!'
Maybe it was 'punk-folk'?
Who cares? The songs are great (check him out on Spotify, among other places) and, in performance, even greater.
Doors open at 6.30, gig is at 7, wrap-up about 9. Food and drink available from our partners in the Deli and Joe will have a stash of CDs available for purchase on the night.
