Incredibly, to someone my age, it's been over 60 years since the Beatles first broke onto the American music scene with their Sunday night performance on the Ed Sullivan Show in 1964. I still remember the "buzz" in first period English class on that Monday morning after - senior year - an indescribably different new musical vibe in the air - anything could happen! All these yewars later, the music created by that band in a relatively few years continues to defy easy categorization. But there is unquestionably a restless, ongoing beauty about it.
On Sunday, November 16 at 2:30 PM at First Congregational Church, 79 Clinton St. in Concord, Jazz Sanctuary will present "The Restless Beauty of the Beatles." Beatles music. will be paired with the writing of Irish poet and philosopher, John O'Donahue on "The Restless Beatury of the Ocean."
Vocalists Emilia Halstead, Joey Placenti, and Renee' Rouse will be joined by Musical Guest, guitarist Charlie Pouliot and The Jazz Sanctuary House Band to perform a total of 12 Beatles tunes. Snacks, camaraderie, and a vibe of genuine spiritual community will make you welcome wherever you are and BECAUSE OF WHO YOU ARE on your life's journey. If you can't make it in person, we will be streaming on YouTube at "Concord's First Church." Hope to see you there!!
