No one gets married hoping for a mediocre marriage that crumbles when things get complicated. In the excitement of planning the perfect wedding, most couples forget to lay the groundwork for a resilient, stable marriage. We aren't interested in your wedding. We work to help couples define and defend a marriage that is worthy of the two kids who fell madly in love.
What is a resilient marriage?
When a couple gets married, they usually walk into that marriage with a sense of what they want but may not know how to pursue it together. So, after some time, they settle for whatever marriage they have. This results in fights without resolutions, empty hearts, shallow sex lives, and a marriage that may look beautiful on the outside but can't withstand the difficulties of life. These mediocre marriages continuously compound the problem. A car problem also becomes a marriage problem. A kid problem also becomes a marriage problem. A work problem also becomes a marriage problem. You get the idea.
But a resilient marriage is prepared for the storm. With agreed-upon boundaries and expectations, clear lines of communication, knowing how to fight with each other well, and cultivating robust intimacy, couples can walk into whatever life throws at them hand-in-hand, prepared to face it and come out the other side better together.
We believe these healthy, resilient marriages build healthy homes, communities, workplaces, and churches.
Sessions will include the perfect date night, setting healthy boundaries and expectations, navigating marriage with meaningful dialogue, fighting on purpose, and building the intimacy you are longing for. Couples will leave with field-tested tools and experience to begin or keep building the marriage of your dreams. We can't wait to see you there!
There is a suggested donation of $40 per couple to help offset the cost of this event. Childcare will be available on Saturday sponsored by Embrace Church Student Ministry. When you pick your kids up, you can make a donation to those students at that time.
