About this Event
The Research Connection: Embedding the lived experience of preterm birth in research
Event Description: This unique session brings together researchers, health professionals, and individuals with lived experience of preterm birth (including parents and people born preterm themselves). It creates a platform for mutual learning and collaboration.
For people with lived experience:
- Gain insights into the latest research on improving care for children born preterm and their families.
- Learn how current studies are shaping the future of preterm care.
- Hear directly from a panel of young adults born preterm who will share how their early start in life has shaped their experience as adults.
- And a panel of parents of children born preterm who will share the biggest challenges they’ve faced and how they continue to navigate them.
For researchers:
- Discover the value of research shaped by lived experience.
- Hear perspectives from people with lived experience of preterm birth on current research, its real-world impact, and their insights into the most pressing areas for future research.
- Understand how your research can have more impact and be more relevant in the world of preterm birth.
By fostering this connection, we aim to ensure future research addresses the needs of those affected by preterm birth, leading to more meaningful outcomes for families and advances in care.
