About this Event
In 1997 the author Anita Diamant wrote a book in which she imagined how women, during the time of the Jewish Patriarchs, gathered and supported each other. Her book, The Red Tent, so named after the fictional tent where women gathered to rest and to recover during their menses and after childbirth, resonated deeply with readers. In the novel, time spent under the red tent was cherished by the female characters. The tent served as a refuge from the demands of their labors and offered a safe space to share both their joys and concerns.
Whether or not there was a literal tent, as Diamant imagined, mattered little. What captured the imaginations of many readers is the wonder of having sacred feminine space: a place where women could speak openly and candidly, and in return, feel a sense of belonging and acceptance.
The Red Tent at Shakti aims to offer a similar space: a space where women can explore their innermost thoughts and feelings without fear of judgment. Over the course of the five-week journey, you will have the opportunity to engage all of your senses as you explore various feminine archetypes. Each week offers healing and connection through stories, meditation, music, and food. (Yes, you read that correctly, food. Please let us know if you have any food allergies or sensitivities.)
Some themes we will explore are healing our relationship with our body, becoming more comfortable with communicating our needs, and trusting our intuition.
If you long for a place where you feel seen and heard…
If you wish to deepen your inner knowing…
If you desire connection with other soulful women…
Then join us this fall under The Red Tent at Shakti. We are waiting for you with open arms.
