The Real Story of the Knights Templar: A Talk with Gill Harbach
Sunday 2nd November, 2025 | 1pm–3pm
According to the history books, the Knights Templar ceased to exist on the fateful Friday, 13th October, 1307. Their last Grand Master, Jacques du Molay, was burned at the stake in Paris on 18th March 1314—marking what was believed to be the end of the story.
In reality, it was just the beginning.
Aided by the influential and great churchman, St Bernard de Clairvaux—who wrote their Rule and foresaw that their demise might be orchestrated by both the King and the Church—the Templars quietly dispersed throughout Europe, Scotland, and England. They re-emerged as warrior monks dressed in the garb of the Recollect Franciscans.
They travelled the world, influencing kings, queens, and kingdoms with their spiritual outlook and wisdom on how to rule and live in harmony. Their teachings encouraged the betterment of people’s welfare and the uplifting of society.
The Knights Templar built Gothic cathedrals and churches using ancient wisdom from all faiths, where sacred architecture elevated the visitor to a higher vibration, allowing them to truly experience the vastness and glory of God’s kingdom. The Monastery itself was built with the Templars’ wisdom of the ages and is based on the sacredness of the number 8—“As Above, So Below”—the number of complete balance.
Join Gill Harbach, Franciscan and Esoteric Wisdom researcher, for this ground-breaking talk revealing the true story behind these extraordinary men—and women—who have been shaping history for over 800 years.
