With three albums over 25 years plus 2024’s six-song Flying Machine EP, The Ragged Flowers weave African, Latin, and Caribbean threads through their folk songs, combined with lush harmonies. Join them at their first show of 2025 on March 27th at the Art House Music Series in the Carleton Place Gallery. Tickets are $35 and available at Ticketsplease.ca. Doors open at 6:30PM, show starts at 7PM. Bringing guitars, djembes, congas, keyboards and various stringed and wind instrument surprises to their shows that have spanned festival stages at Blue Skies and Stewart Park, and radio play on CBC, CKCU-FM and indie stations in the UK, The Ragged Flowers are Steve Reside (guitar, percussion), Rob Riendeau (bass), Ian Douglas (keyboard and drums) Nathan Sloniowski (guitar, and ukulele) and George Birchall (guitar and melodica).
“The Ragged Flowers combine dynamic vocals and poetic lyrics to create polyrhythmic sunshine!” said Chris White when the band played The Ottawa Folk Festival.
The Art House Music Series is hosted by Mel and Don Bray. Show your e-ticket at Stalwart Brewing Company (10 High St.) between 5 an 6 pm on concert night, for a free half-pint. Local tastes at the gallery will be sold by The Blue Spoon Atelier before the concert.
