About this Event
Join Archivist Sabrina Garity for a lecture about the end of the Revolutionary War, map making, Moravian involvement, and more. This lecture will focus on the influence of accurate maps of the waterways in North Carolina on the Race to the Dan, a campaign in which Lord Cornwallis pursued Nathaniel Greene across the Carolinas in early 1781. The connection between Moravians with both British and American forces will be discussed, as well as the Battle of Guildford Courthouse. Following the lecture, a showcase of Archival records from the collection will be highlighted.
As part of the many events happening for America 250 both locally and nationwide, this lecture will be recorded and made available to the public.
