On Friday, June 28th, The Quasi Kings bring their blend of high-energy, uplifting reggae to The Mousetrap for what is sure to be an absolutely incredible night!
The Quasi Kings are one of the most up and coming reggae bands in the states showcasing a super tight rhythm section, standout vocals and an overall awesome vibe that emanates from their instruments and voices and immediately draws their audience in! They have been known to get exploratory with their dub-driven jams and have been wowing crowds everywhere they go having played over 300 shows across the country since the bands creation!
About The Quasi Kings:
The Quasi Kings are a reggae rock band from Columbus, OH chaired by brothers Benny & Zach Coleman (formerly of nationally touring reggae act Shrub). Since its inception in 2016, TQK has quickly “cemented [their] place as the sprawling, multi-instrumental next generation of Columbus reggae” (Columbus Dispatch).
Their premier offering, 2018’s Throwaway Culture EP, features catchy hooks, tight vocal harmonies, and a unique blend of reggae, rock, and hip-hop. Their latest release, Eye of the Storm, takes things a step further with songs like “Booze”, a raucous Sabbath inspired tune, and the dubby, horn-driven “Cut It Out”, which features guitarist Kevin Oliver (Parliament Funkadelic, Bo Diddley) & Grammy nominated trumpet / trombone player Quinn Carson (Gregory Porter, Stick Figure, Jasmine Sullivan). The album’s breakout hit, “How We Livin”, features a verse from Ohio reggae rock comrades Tropidelic. The latest single, a collaboration with TN producer Mellodose, has accrued over 236,00+ streams since it's release last year.
