Our 2nd Dinner for a Cause is a 5 coursed Moroccan themed dinner that will benefit Home Team Housing. Tickets will cost $70 with $25 of each ticket for the charity. The meal will feature:Appetizer: B'stilla (a Moroccan pot pie) traditionally made with pigeon but made with smoked chicken and sweet and savory ingredients including saffron, and cinnamon. Baked in a flaky pastry.
Soup: Harira a North African Soup made with chickpeas, lentils, and noodles in a smoky tomato and beef-based broth.
Salad: Cauliflower Salad with Chermoula Dressing made with roasted cauliflower, carrots, raisin, arugula, and feta with chermoula dressing of garlic, citrus, chili and paprika.
Entree: Lamb Tagine a smoky lamb stew made with onions, garlic, ginger, and tomatoes as its base then stewed with cinnamon, coriander, apricots, dates, lemon, and almonds, then finished with smoked honey for service. Served over couscous.
Dessert: Snake Cake a pastry roll filled with an almond paste filling flavored with cinnamon, cardamom, orange, and vanilla, then rolled in a coil like a snake. Garnished with powdered sugar and smoked almonds.
